Our last visit in Górażdże Limestone Quarry was full of hard work. We made log hive in oak wood, using modern and traditional techniques. Started with a chainsaw we cut rectangle shape in the log, and then hollow and deepen the chamber untill it got proper volume and shape, using only traditional tools, recreated in north east part of Poland. On our bee hotel we put a sign: Free Bee Vacancies, since there is a plenty room in the hotel floors :) During our surveys we recorded high number of predatory aculeata - potter and paper wasps. We also observed 7 specimens of mantis prayer on one of our surveyed plots! Have a look on the photos.
