On the 22nd of March we have done a lot of hard work.
In order to expose some places we used heavy equipment for the clearance of superfluous vegetation.
At last, after many hours, we managed to reduce shading.
Now that area is much more habitable for sand lizards (Lacerta agilis argus). We learned about their existence in the neighborhood from the project called "Measures to optimize the habitat conditions within the KSM Nowogród Bobrzański” which was carried out by different team during the IVth edition of Quarry Life Award. Back then vegetation cover was minimal. Obtained plant material, in different form though, will increase biodiversity since we used it to create yet another ecological corridor and a heap where lizards and other fascinating animals will be able to shelter and hunt.
